Meet Steve

 

With an experienced leadership presence, Steve is positioned to help you and your company succeed and grow.

Steve served for 29 years as part owner and Vice President of Sales at his family’s company, Interstate Meat Service, in Albert Lea, Minn., before it was sold to J&B Group in St. Michael, Minn., in 2007. He worked for 6 years as J&B Group’s Regional Business Manager, overseeing a sales team of 35 and $250 million in annual sales under their multiple brands, including No Name Steaks®. During his time with J&B Group he also completed three years of “The Growing Edge,” a comprehensive Leadership Development Program. Additionally, he spent three years as the New Truck Sales Manager at Dave Syverson Truck Centers in Albert Lea, Minn., working in a dual branded dealership representing Volvo and Freightliner.

Steve has a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree with a business emphasis from Metropolitan State University, in St. Paul, Minn. Prior to graduating from there, he spent time at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire where he competed in his lifetime passion – hockey. He was the alternate captain when the team won the NAIA National Championship in 1984, while also obtaining All American Honors.

Steve is a lifelong resident of Albert Lea, Minn., and still continues to call the southern Minnesota community home. He has three grown children, Holly, Michael and Katie, for whom he feels truly blessed. Steve enjoys being active in his free time, and escaping to southern California for a portion of each winter.
